Daytona Beach, FL - After an one-year absence, the Northeast Conference women's golf team trophy is heading back to Hackensack.

Shooting its best 18-hole team score of the tournament, Fairleigh Dickinson added to the lead that it built over the first two days on LPGA International’s Hills course and secured the NEC crown for the third time in four years.

Dethroning defending champion Sacred Heart, the Knights shot a 309 on Sunday to distance themselves from the reast of the field.

A pair of seniors powered FDU's seventh successful NEC championship run with Mailen Domecq Chantry and Gabriela Santini posting the top-two 54-hole scores on the individual leader board. The former edged out the latter by a single stroke for the individual crown.

Domecq Chantry carded the best Sunday round with a 73 and 233 overall. Santini finished second overall after a 76 in the final round and a 234 for the event.

FDU advances to the NCAA Regionals and will learn their assignment when the NCAA Selection Show is announced on Wednesday, April 25.

Sacred Heart finished as the 2018 runner up compiling a score of 972. Pioneer junior Chelsea Sedlar (Merrimack, NH/Bishop Guertin) and senior Abigail Hood (Gloucester, MA/Rockport) finished third and fourth, respectively with three-day totals of 236 and 237.
