FINAL RESULTS
Norman, OK -- Despite clouds and slight rain, the Fairleigh Dickinson women's golf team completed the NCAA Norman Regional on Wednesday afternoon. The Knights posted a 320 on their final day of competition. FDU finished in 18th place with a three-round total score of 963 (316-327-320).
The 18 teams and six individual qualifiers played the past three days at the par-72, 6,407-yard Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club on the campus ok Oklahoma University.
The six teams that will move on to the NCAA Championship from the Norman Regional are Texas, Florida, Wake Forest, Purdue, Arizona State and Ole Miss. Those teams will compete at The Blessing Golf Club in Fayetteville Arkansas.
Throughout the three days,
Nicola Smith carried the Burgundy and Blue with a three-round score of 230 (78-74-78). Smith (+14) finished tied for 68th.
Najae Butler and
Tomita Arejola each carded a 8-over-par on the final day of play. Butler finished tied for 82nd at +19, while Arejola, the 2019 NEC Player of the Year, finished 93rd at +35.
Teammates
Caterina Tatti (+37) and
Julia Warke (+38) rounded out the scorecards for the Burgundy and Blue. On Wednesday, Tatti tallied a 84 and Warke registered a 82.
With the completion of play on Wednesday, the Knights wrapped-up a memorable 2018-19 season, winning their fourth NEC title in the past five seasons, and an NEC-record eight conference titles overall.
All five highly talented starters will be back for 2019-20 season, joined by newcomer Victoria Schroedl, the younger sister Florian Schroedl of the men's golf team, the 2019 Northeast Conference Champion.
