Murphy leapt to a pair of first-place finishes and school-record breaking performances at the Red Flash Open this past weekend. The junior shattered the previous school record of 5.68m, which was set back in 2001, and moved into second on the NEC performance list after hitting 5.83m in the long jump. Murphy also improved her own school record in the triple jump by 0.10m, reaching 12.47m to vault to the top of the league’s performance list. This is the Cresson, PA native’s second NEC Field Athlete of the Week honor this season.
