Week 4 Stats: 11 total tackles (3 solo), 2.0 TFL (7 yards), 1 INT
Howard’s lockdown defense down the stretch helped lead a Sacred Heart rally that saw the Pioneers erase a 13-point deficit in the third quarter and defeat two-time defending Ivy League champion Dartmouth, 38-31, in overtime on Saturday. The junior linebacker led the team with a career-best 11 tackles, including 2.0 tackles for a loss of seven yards. With the game knotted up at 31-all, Howard forced Dartmouth to punt after his third-down tackle resulted in a four-yard loss at the Big Green’s own 49-yard line. In overtime, the Absecon, NJ native sealed the come-from-behind victory after intercepting a fourth-down pass from the five-yard line. This is Howard’s first-ever NEC Defensive Player of the Week honor.
