Week 5 Stats: 3-for-3 FG (19, 47, 33 yards), 2-for-2 PAT, 379 KO yards, 2 touchbacks, 63.2 yards/kickoff
Coney converted on all three of his field goal attempts against Merrimack on Saturday to earn NEC Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the second time in as many weeks. A native of Wantagh, NY, Coney connected from 19, 47 and 33 yards to extend his streak to nine straight. The redshirt-sophomore also went 2-for-2 on PATs and added 379 kickoff yards for an average of 63.2 yards per kickoff. Last week, Coney was also tabbed the FedEx Ground FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week by StatsPerform after he drilled five field goals against Bryant — the most for a FCS player this season — to tie a NEC single-game record in the category.
