Week 8 Stats: 3 tackles (2 solo), 1.5 TFL, 1.0 sack, 1 INT for TD (49 yards)
Wily adds his name to the NEC Defensive Player of the Week honor roll after he helped push Wagner past LIU, 37-26, on Hameline Field. The junior linebacker sealed the Seahawks’ first win of the season and earned a spot on ESPN’s SportsCenter’s highlight reel after he ran his first career interception back for 49 yards with 10:08 left to play. Wily, a Hawaii native, added three tackles and 1.5 tackles-for-loss. His lone sack, which pushed LIU back 12 yards on a 3rd-and-10 play, limited the Sharks to a 46-yard field goal late in the first half. Wily is the first Wagner player to earn a weekly award from the NEC this season.
