Lynch’s punting helped LIU hold off Stonehill and come away with its third straight victory on Saturday. The rookie averaged 49.8 yards per boot in the 34-28 victory. The Skyhawks managed just punt-return five yards on seven kicks as six of his punts were not returned. Lynch’s second punt — a 65-yarder in the second quarter — sent the Skyhawks back to their own 15-yard line and allowed the Sharks to build a 27-7 advantage at halftime. In the third quarter, the Australian blasted a season-long 68 yard punt that put Stonehill on its own 11-yard line which resulted in an eventual three-and-out drive. Lynch, who garners NEC Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the first time, averages 38.2 yards per boot to rank fourth in the league.
