After scoring two clutch goals for the defending NEC Tournament champs last week, Salas claimed the first weekly award for the Knights this season. Salas created a set piece opportunity just outside the 18-yard box in the 48th minute against Sacred Heart on Thursday. The freshman defender launched the free kick into the bottom left corner of the net to score what would be the game winning goal for the Knights as FDU held onto win the league match, 1-0. Against CCSU on Sunday, Kiomy Luperon drew the CCSU keeper out and fired a shot from outside the box on the right side. As a CCSU player defended the empty net and attempted to clear the ball, Salas blocked the clearing kick and slotted the ball into the back of the net. The 68th minute goal gave the Knights a late 1-0 lead, which was later overtaken by CCSU's two goals in the final 20 minutes of the match. The Madrid, Spain native totaled four points last week as FDU finished the week 1-1. Salas is currently tied for second among all freshman in the league with three goals this season.
