Horgan netted an 84th minute game-winning goal in Central Connecticut’s 2-1 victory over conference foe Howard on Thursday. In a battle for first place in the NEC standings, CCSU and Howard were stuck at 1-1 since the 61st minute of the match. The junior forward won a loose ball and fired a shot off from the right corner outside the box. Her initial shot was blocked by the Howard goalkeeper, but during a scramble for the ball in front of the net, Horgan slotted it into the goal. Additionally, she scored the first goal in the Blue Devils’ 5-0 shutout win at Delaware State on Sunday. Horgan finished the week with four points as CCSU improved to 5-0 in NEC play. The Ireland native is currently tied for fifth in the league with five goals this season and she ranks third with 13 points.
