Mahario sprinted off to a strong start this season at the Youree Spence-Garcia Invitational to earn a NEC Men's Track Athlete of the Week award. He clocked in first for the 400 meters and second in the 200 meters. He finished with a 400-meter time of 48.20 and registered a 22.12 mark in the 200 meters. The junior leads the NEC in both events and has surpassed the IC4A qualifying time for both, as well. His 400-meter time ranks fourth in NCAA Division I while his 200-meter mark sits at 31st.
