Lopez netted two goals during Chicago State’s 3-1 triumph against Howard in the Cougars’ regular season finale. After senior Danail Sergiev’s first minute penalty kick was blocked by the Bison goalkeeper, the freshman forward found the back of the net off the rebound to give the Cougars an early edge. The Waco, TX native scored again in the 32nd minute to make it a 2-0 advantage for Chicago State. It marked the first two goals of his career. The Cougars ended their inaugural season in the NEC with a 2-5-1 record against league opponents.
