Lanpher went on an absolute tear last week. The Blue Devils’ star graduate guard averaged a double-double on 31.0 points and 10.0 rebounds to lead Central Connecticut to a perfect 2-0 mark in NEC play. With three-straight wins and a 3-1 mark, the Blue Devils are off to the best start to conference play since going 4-0 in 2016-17. Lanpher opened the week with her second career double-double, registering 25 points and 11 rebounds to lead her team past LIU by a 52-48 final. She followed that game with a monstrous outing at Wagner. Netting 21 of her game- and career-high 37 points in the second half, including nine-straight points in the final quarter that gave the Blue Devils their first lead since early in the second stanza, Lanpher powered Central Connecticut to the come-from-behind road win on Saturday. Coming one board shy of registering a double-double for the second consecutive game, the 5-foot-5 guard was unstoppable, going 13-of-22 from the field, 5-of-10 from three and a perfect 9-of-9 from the line. On the week, the Princeton, MA native hit 20-of-38 field goals for 52.8 percent while going almost perfect from the charity stripe with a 94.5 percent clip (17-of-18). Since making her season debut on Dec. 7 against Morgan State, Lanpher is averaging 21.0 points per contest, which would rank first in the conference and 11th in the nation if she met the minimum for games played. She has been even more explosive in NEC play, leading all players with 22.3 points per contest. Lanpher has netted double figures in all seven games and has scored 20-or-more points four times. This is Lanpher’s second NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow’s Office Player of the Week award this season.
