Swider went on an absolute tear last week. In a two-game stretch that saw Stonehill split a pair of games, the graduate center averaged a double-double of 23.0 points and 13.5 rebounds. She put up those monstrous offensive numbers behind hot shooting from the field after going 52.6 percent (20-of-38). Swider opened the week with an efficient outing against first-place and undefeated FDU on Thursday. Going 9-of-18 from the field in the NEC showdown, she finished with a game-high 19 points and 11 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season. The Villanova transfer and Ocean State native was flat out sensational against Chicago State on Saturday. Turning in an 11-of-20 effort from the floor, she put up a career-high 27 points and turned the double-double trick once again after matching her career-best rebound total of 16. Swider was dominant in what was a pivotal second half for the Skyhawks, with 10 of her rebounds coming in that stretch. In addition, she scored a pair of go-ahead buckets in the final minute, including the deciding basket with 7.5 seconds left to play, to hold off the Cougars, who came back from a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit. Swider has three 20-point games this season, all of which have come in her past five outings. The league’s top rebounder at 8.9 boards per game is averaging 18.0 points and a conference-best 11.3 rebounds against conference foes. This is her first-ever NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow’s Office Player of the Week award.
