The only first-year player in the circuit to pull off the NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow’s Office Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week sweep back on Nov. 25, Renninger turned the trick again following her stellar play in FDU’s victory over Mercyhurst on Saturday. Pouring in a game- and career-high 28 points, the Yardley, PA native led the Knights to a comfortable 30-point triumph. With their 10th-straight victory, and 11th-straight in Hackensack, FDU created even more breathing room atop of the NEC standings with a perfect 7-0 mark against conference competitors. Renninger accounted for half of her team’s first half points after racking up 17 points — including 11 in the opening stanza — to help the Knights take an 11-point advantage into the halftime break. She went on to contribute eight more points behind a pair of three-pointers in a third quarter that saw FDU put the game away after outscoring the Lakers by a 22-10 margin. Renninger shot 58.8 percent from the field (10-of-17), 75.0 percent from three (6-of-8) and 100.0 percent from the line (2-of-2) in the win. The guard leads FDU in scoring and is fourth in the conference with 14.2 points per game. Renninger also ranks among the league’s top five in field goal percentage (40.9) and three-point field goals per game (1.8).
