Haid’s conference-leading fifth NEC Player of the Week honor tied him for 14th on the league’s all-time single-season list. In a showdown of top contenders in New Britain on Thursday, Haid rang up a career-high 25 points on 8-12 shooting from the field and a perfect 7-7 at the free throw line, leading first-place Blue Devils to an 87-66 win over FDU, their sixth straight victory. He also contributed eight rebounds and two steals. Haid kickstarted a decisive 15-2 run with three made free throws, helping CCSU extend its lead to 68-53 with 9:51 remaining. It marked his fifth 20+ point performance of the season. Haid is the NEC’s sixth-leading scorer at 13.3 ppg and also ranks fifth in free throw percentage (.821), eighth in field goal percentage (.485) and ninth in rebounding (5.5).
