The NEC’s double-double machine added two more to her already league-leading count this past week for FDU, which has run through its first nine conference games with an unblemished record. Brown, who garners NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow’s Office Co-Player of the Week honors for the fourth time this season, averaged 15.0 points and 14.5 rebounds on 46.4 percent shooting from the field to lead the Knights to wins over then-second place Central Connecticut on Thursday and Wagner on Saturday. With the victories, the Knights, who ride the nation’s eighth longest win streak into this week with 12-straight triumphs, own a comfortable advantage in the league standings over second-place Saint Francis U (7-3). Against the Blue Devils, Brown dropped 12 points and pulled down 15 rebounds to help FDU pull away in what was a tightly-contested game for nearly three quarters. On Saturday, she played an instrumental role in an 18-0 FDU run in the third quarter that erased a double-digit deficit and put the Knights in front. Capping that pivotal run that featured six Wagner miscues with an old-fashioned three-point play, Brown finished with 18 points and 14 rebounds against the Seahawks for her eighth double-double of the year. On the season, the Jamaican-born baller is nearly averaging a double-double with 13.2 points per game (9th in NEC) and 9.2 boards (t-1st in NEC).
