Against some stiff competition, junior Savannah Nash put up some impressive numbers at the plate for defending NEC champion Saint Francis U this past weekend. The two-time All-NEC star produced a .500/.545/.900 slash line during a four-game stretch that featured games against Toledo, East Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia at the Gamecock Invitational. A native of Mechanicsville, VA, Nash drove in her first two runs of the year on a home run against East Carolina on Saturday. It marked the first long ball by an NEC player this season. The outfielder tacked on another extra-base hit in the Red Flash’s nightcap against host South Carolina with a two-bagger. With five NEC squads taking the field during opening weekend, Nash registered league-leading numbers in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, stolen bases (2), runs (2) and homers (1). This is her second career NEC Player of the Week honor.
