Garang burst onto the scene last week for Le Moyne, earning his first NEC Rookie of the Week honor after two breakout performances in the Dolphins’ first sweep of the season. The 6’6” redshirt freshman guard averaged 15.0 points, 1.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals. He added lights out shooting splits, hitting 60.0 percent from the field, 75.0 percent from three-point range, and 6-6 at the stripe. Garang scored a career-high 15 points, knocked down 3-4 from downtown and chipped in two steals in Thursday’s 72-68 overtime win against Wagner. He matched his scoring output in Saturday’s 80-75 victory over Chicago State, once again drilling 3-4 from beyond the arc, while contributing three assists and two steals. Prior to last week, Garang had totaled 22 points in seven games on the season.
