Shroyer’s right arm led FDU to its first victory of the 2025 campaign by way of a 1-0 final at Morgan State on Saturday. The sophomore and reigning NEC Rookie of the Year went the distance in the shutout, and she did so with authority. Allowing just three base runners on three hits, Shroyer, who induced nine ground outs and two foul outs, struck out a season-high nine batters. The nine punchouts marked a season-best performance by an NEC hurler this season, while the complete-game clean sheet was the first by a conference pitcher in 2025. Under the Sam Dimas, CA native’s watch, the Bears did not have a single base runner get past first base. On the season, Shroyer is tied with four other NEC pitchers, including fellow teammate Julia Swan, for first in the circuit in strikeouts with 13. This is Shroyer’s seventh career weekly award from the NEC, as she was pegged the NEC Rookie of the Week four times last season and the NEC Pitcher of the Week on two occasions.
