After a one-week hiatus, Saint Francis U regained control of the NEC Player of the Week award thanks to Garroway’s outstanding offensive performance. With her first weekly award of the season, she became the third different Red Flash to take home the honor, joining Sofia Zielinski (March 4) and three-time recipient Savannah Nash (Feb. 11, Feb. 18, Feb. 25). Garroway crafted a .636/.667/1.000 slash line to lead Saint Francis U to a three-game sweep of Stonehill, and the Red Flash’s 30th-straight triumph against NEC competition. Registering at least one hit in each the three games, she contributed five runs and six RBI to a Saint Francis U offense that combined for 33 runs in the series. Giving her team a 4-1 lead with an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth in the first of two games on Saturday, the Ellwood City, PA native put an exclamation point on the 13-2 win with her first home run of the season — a walk-off grand slam — in the home half of the sixth. In Saturday’s nightcap and series finale, Garroway went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored to help the Red Flash claim the sweep with a 10-6 triumph.
