The NEC’s home run leader slugged her way to her league-leading third NEC Player of the Week award this season on Tuesday. Sending five of her nine hits for extra bases with three moon shots, the Mechanicsville, VA native doubled her home run count to six, which are tied for most in the circuit with Central Connecticut’s KC Machado. In five games last week, Nash led Saint Francis U to a 3-2 record that included an NEC sweep of Le Moyne after she crafted a .474/.500/1.053 slash line. In addition, she scored eight runs, drove in seven more and was a perfect 4-for-4 on the base paths. Nash was outstanding against the Dolphins. Scoring five times with two RBI, she helped the Red Flash remain perfect in conference play this season (6-0 NEC) and extend their win streak against fellow NEC competitors to 33 games. Belting out a home run in Saturday’s nightcap, a thrilling 15-14 walk-off win, the junior outfielder also went yard to make it a 6-0 game in the second inning in an eventual 8-0, five-inning triumph. Earlier in the week, Nash combined to go 5-for-8 with a homer two doubles, two runs and four RBI in a doubleheader with Robert Morris. Leading the conference with 23 RBI, she currently ranks second in the NEC in batting average (.407), slugging percentage (.677) and runs (19).
