Croom took home NEC Rookie of the Week honors for the second time in her career on Monday. The first-year midfielder, who first earned the distinction on Feb. 10 following her collegiate debut, doubled her weekly award count after she stuffed the stat sheet with six goals, eight ground balls, two draw controls and one caused turnover in Howard’s 1-1 week. Croom played a pivotal part in leading Howard to its first win of the season, a 9-8 overtime decision at Delaware State on Wednesday. Late in the game, the Miami, FL native ignited a game-ending 3-0 run with her second goal of the afternoon. That rally pulled the Bison out of an 8-6 hole and ultimately sealed the win in extra sessions. Croom had another sensational offensive outing against Central Connecticut on Saturday. She accounted for half of Howard’s scoring after she tickled the twine for a career-high four goals. With the hat trick, her second of the season, Croom pushed her season goal total to 16, which ranks second on the team behind graduate student Sawyer Walker.
