Columbus was dominant at the X in the Colonials' 17-8 win against Mercyhurst on Saturday, winning 20-of-22 faceoffs for a career-best 90.9 percent success rate. He also scooped up 14 ground balls, helping the Colonials remain unbeaten in league play (3-0) and maintain a perfect mark (5-0) at home. On a national level, his performance ranks seventh on the NCAA single-game list this season for faceoff percentage, ninth for ground balls and 11th for faceoff wins. His 20 wins and 14 ground balls also marked the third-best single-game totals in program history. The graduate student currently leads the conference this season in faceoff percentage (.621) and ground balls (6.90), which rank him tenth and eleventh nationally, respectively.
