Easton’s explosive offense led Mercyhurst to a pair of road wins last week at Saint Francis U and Delaware State. The junior attacker, who has netted a hat trick in each of her eight appearances this season, took her play to a new level during that two-game stretch. On Wednesday, Easton registered a season-high in scoring after she found the back of the net five times. In addition, the Honeoye Falls, NY native dished out a pair of assists, including the dime on teammate Emma Cimino’s game-winning tally with 24 seconds left in regulation, to lead the Lakers to the 11-10 final in Loretto. Easton had another stellar outing on Saturday. The league’s top scorer bested her previous season-best standard just three days later after she found the back of the net six times in a 22-9 win over the Hornets. With the two triumphs, Mercyhurst moved to 3-1 in NEC play. Easton, who has claimed NEC Player of the Week honors a league-leading three times this season, paces the conference in nearly every statistical category, including goals (33), goals per game (4.13), assists (16), assists per game (2.00), points (49) and points per game (6.13).
