Hamilton was lights-out for Central Connecticut this past weekend, and behind two stellar performances inside the circle, the Blue Devils are now engaged in a four-way tie for first place in the NEC standings. The Buckeye State product propelled her team to two wins in a pivotal three-game series with Saint Francis U, which entered the weekend with an unblemished 6-0 record against NEC opponents. Hamilton, a sophomore, tossed a pair of 2-0 complete game shutouts on Friday and Saturday. Getting all the run support she needed on a pair of RBI singles off the bats of Grace Lawton and Abby Meehan in the first inning, the hurler scattered just five hits and three walks while striking out five to snap Saint Francis U’s 33-game winning streak against NEC opponents, a rally that dated back to a 7-3 loss to eventual champion LIU in the 2023 NEC Softball Tournament. Hamilton was even more impressive in Saturday’s win, which sealed the series triumph. Allowing eight base runners on four hits, three walks and an error, she scored her league-leading seventh win behind her third shutout, which also leads all NEC pitchers. This is Hamilton’s first NEC Pitcher of the Week honor this season, and the first weekly award for a Blue Devil in 2025.
