Leading FDU to two wins in a three-game set against Saint Francis U, and a non-league victory over Big East member and Garden State foe Seton Hall, Stone became the first FDU player this season to take home NEC Player of the Week distinction. The California product had a monstrous week in the batter’s box. Crafting a .571/.571/1.071 slash line for a 1.642 OPS, she doubled and scored one run in each of her four appearances. In addition, with three multi-hit outings and five total extra-base hits, Stone added five RBI during the Knights’ 3-2 week. After FDU dropped the opener to the defending NEC champion on Saturday, the junior first baseman delivered a pair of strong outings to help the Knights bounce back and clinch the series with a doubleheader sweep of the Red Flash on Sunday. She started the day by contributing an RBI single and an RBI double to propel FDU to the five-inning 12-2 victory. In Sunday’s nightcap, Stone opened the scoring with a two-run double in the first frame to give her team the early edge. With the Knights leading by a 7-3 count, she homered as part of a four-run seventh frame to help seal the 12-4 win in Loretto. Stone, who leads the team and is fourth in the NEC with nine doubles, is batting .237 with 15 RBI and 12 runs for FDU, which is one game behind first-place LIU in the league standings with an 11-4 record in conference play.
