In claiming his second NEC Rookie of the Week award, Matthew put together a perfect 4-0 combined record last week. In singles play, Matthew claimed victory over Binghamton’s James McPherson in three sets (5-7, 6-0, 10-8) from the No. 6 spot. Matthew and Hatton won three No. 1 doubles matches against the Bearcats (7-6), Lafayette (6-1) and St. Bonaventure (6-4). Matthew’s doubles wins were key in the Dolphins claiming dual match wins against the Leopards (5-0) and the Bonnies (4-2).
