Wagner put together another lockdown defensive performance this past weekend due in part to the stellar play of Skowronski. A veteran defender from Millstone, NJ, she caused four turnovers for the third time this season and registered a season-best five ground balls to lead the Seahawks to a 16-6 win over Howard on Saturday. The six goals allowed marked the fifth time in as many games that the Skyhawks held an NEC opponent to single digits in goals. In addition, with the win, Wagner remained in a three-way tie with Stonehill and LIU after improving to 7-1 in NEC play with the triumph. Skowronski leads the Seahawks and is ranked second in the NEC with 24 caused turnovers and 1.71 caused turnovers per game. With her first career NEC Defensive Player of the Week award, she becomes the third Wagner player to earn the honor, joining Ryan Murphy (March 24) and Erin Rooney (April 7).
