Tasked with taking the mound in Wagner’s conference series finale against Maryland Eastern Shore, Hayashi did not disappoint, helping the Seahawks complete the series sweep. The junior southpaw tossed a complete game shutout through seven innings as the run-rule went into effect after Wagner built a 10-0 advantage. Hayashi allowed just two hits while punching out three batters and walking one. His seven-inning outing was his longest of the season, needing just 73 pitches to complete the game. The Tokyo native earned distinction as the first Seahawk to win NEC Pitcher of the Week accolades on the year. Wagner is currently riding a four-game winning streak and is tied for second on the circuit with a 15-3 league mark.
