Hewitt made key contributions on the offensive side of the field on Saturday to help Saint Francis U secure the program’s third straight NEC Tournament berth. Notching four points on three goals and an assist in a must-win regular-season finale at Le Moyne, she helped lead the Red Flash past the Dolphins by a 13-10 final. Each of the attacker’s three goals came inside the final 23:39. With her team facing a 7-3 deficit, she capped a three-goal run with her first score of the game to pull the Red Flash within one with 8:29 left in the third. After Le Moyne regained a two-point edge to end the quarter, the Devon, PA native ignited a game-clinching 6-0 run with her second score of the game 53 seconds into the fourth. Hewitt’s contributions went beyond that, as two minutes after she assisted on Christina Roncarati’s go-ahead tally, she sank the game-winner with her third — and final — goal at the 8:05 mark. Hewitt has been on an absolute tear as of late. Putting up multiple points in each of her past six games with four multi-goal outings in that stretch, she is ranked second on the team in goals (26) and points (41), while her 15 dimes are good for tops on the team. This is Hewitt’s fourth NEC Rookie of the Week award, which is one shy of the league’s record, held by Merrimack’s Lindsay Atkinson (2024), Saint Francis U’s Bella Fisher (2023), Wagner’s Ally Alliegro (2018), Bryant’s Jess DeMeo (2016) and Monmouth’s Megan Nutter (2005).
