Benderski was a run-producing machine for Le Moyne last week, which battled Colgate in a mid-week doubleheader before taking two-of-three games against NEC newcomer Mercyhurst over the weekend. During that five-game stretch, the Spring Lake Park, MN native posted a .615/.688/1.231 slash line after she sent four of her eight hits for extra bases on two doubles and a pair of homers. Drawing two walks, Benderski, who scored one run in each of those five games, drove in eight for the Dolphins, seven of which came in conference play against the Lakers. Le Moyne’s first baseman wasted little time to wreak havoc on Sunday. Going 2-for-2 at the plate, she made it a 3-0 game in the bottom of the first with a two-run double before extending the lead to 6-1 on an RBI two-bagger in the fourth frame. After launching a two-run bomb in Sunday’s nightcap, Benderski helped the Dolphins bounce back on Monday by giving her team a lead they would not relinquish in the 4-1 win by opening the scoring with a two-run homer in the second inning. With eight long balls this season, the junior is tied for fourth in the NEC.
