Last Week’s Stats: 8 tackles (5 solo), 1 pass breakup
Fasolino balled out on defense at Eastern Michigan on Saturday, and thanks to his clutch performance, LIU made history by scoring the program’s first-ever victory over a FBS squad. In addition, the 28-23 defeat of the Eagles marked the fourth FCS-over-FBS win of the 2025 campaign, and the third in NEC history. Fasolino registered eight total tackles, including five solo stops, and added one pass breakup for the Sharks. Six of the Montrose, NY native’s tackles came in a second half that saw LIU preserve its 14-10 halftime lead and hold on for the wire-to-wire win. Highlighting that stretch was a huge tackle on an Eagles’ 4th-and-1 that forced a turnover on downs deep in Eastern Michigan territory in the final quarter. That stop resulted in a 14-yard rushing touchdown run by Sharks’ signal caller Luca Stanzani on the first play of the ensuing drive that extended the visiting team’s lead to 21-10 with 12:11 remaining on the clock. Fasolino ranks fifth in the NEC in tackles (17), while his 4.0 tackles-for-loss are tops in the league.
