Moon Township, Pa. - Robert Morris University Director of Athletics Craig Coleman, M.D., announced today the hiring of Mikhail "Misha" Kouznetsov as men's and women's tennis coach. Kouznetsov replaces Evan Schermer, who resigned in August.
A 2004 graduate of the University of Maryland-Baltimore County (UMBC) with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, Kouznetsov is the owner and head professional of KTAsports Inc., based in Pittsburgh.
A native of Moscow, Russia, Kouznetsov finished with an overall singles record of 19-6 during the 2000-01 season for the Retrievers at the No. 2 flight as a freshman, earning All-Northeast Conference honors. He was one of just two freshman named to the All-NEC squad.
Over his three years competing in the Northeast Conference at both the No. 2 and No. 3 singles flights, Kouznetsov logged an overall record of 55-23 (.705), including an undefeated record in conference play at 12-0. He earned All-NEC honors in both 2001-02 and 2002-03.
