Albany, NY -- University at Albany's Jordan Migliore has been voted to the Capital One District I Academic All-America Football Team, as announced on Thursday, Nov. 10 by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Migliore, a 6-foot-6, 295-pound junior from Closter, N.J., has appeared in all nine games as an offensive tackle. He is also a member of the field goal and PAT units on special teams. The Great Danes are among the NCAA Division I FCS leaders, ranking 24th in total yards at 416.6 per game. UAlbany is also 22nd nationally in scoring (33.8 ppg) and 22nd in rushing offense at 191.8 yards per game. The Great Danes, who are tied for first place in the NEC standings, have totaled 435 or more yards in six of nine contests this season.
Migliore has a 3.84 cumulative grade point average in a dual major of criminal justice and sociology. He was named to the Northeast Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll in 2009 and 2010 and has been a Dean's List student. Migliore has also been active in the community and has participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and Juvenile Diabetes Research walks.
District I includes the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Vermont and Rhode Island. The 2011 Capital One national Academic All-America football squad will be announced on Dec. 8.
