ESPN's Jay Bilas - Weekly Report - Best Passers in College Basketball

Brooklyn, NY --
LIU Brooklyn junior point guard Jason Brickman (San Antonio, TX/Clark) was named one of the six best passers in all of college basketball by ESPN's Jay Bilas on his "Weekly Report" on Monday evening. Brickman, who ranks second in the nation in assists at 8.2 per contest, joins Michigan's Trey Burke, Saint Mary's guard Matthew Dellavadova, UCLA's Larry Drew II, Syracuse's Michael Carter-Williams and Ohio guard D.J. Cooper on the list.

Bilas on Brickman: "He is an outstanding passer that is averaging 8.2 assists per game, that is second in the nation. He has a 2:1 assist-to-turnover ratio. He really understands angles very well. He gets the ball to (LIU's) best players, and he does a really nice job of managing the game. An excellent passer."

The San Antonio, Texas native has dished out 10 or more assists in a game six times this season, and has recorded four double-doubles. For his two-plus year career in downtown Brooklyn, Brickman has accumulated 593 assists to rank second on LIU's all-time list just 17 behind Robert Cole (1979-83) for the top spot.

Recently, Brickman was also the subject of a feature video that aired on MSG Network at halftime of LIU's recent 78-68 win over St. Francis Brooklyn.

LIU Brooklyn men's basketball (10-10, 5-3 NEC), currently on a five-game winning streak, will return to action on Thursday, Jan. 31 against Saint Francis University. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Wellness Center.
