Fayetteville, AR --
LIU Brooklyn sophomore Brendon Rodney competed in the 200 meter dash at the National Collegiate Athletic Association Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday. Rodney was the first male indoor track athlete to represent the Blackbirds at the NCAA Championships and the only athlete, male or female, from the Northeast Conference.

With the 16th fastest time in the nation (20.90 – IC4A championships), Rodney took part in Friday's national semifinals. He crossed the line with a time of 21.25, good for 13th in the nation overall, among the group of 16 runners that competed.

The top eight times move on to Saturday's finals. Rodney will earn second-team All-America honors for his performance in the national semifinals.

Up next for Rodney and his Blackbird teammates is the Hurricane Invitational on March 15-16 at the University of Miami. This will kick off the start of the outdoor track & field season.
