Brooklyn, NY -- LIU Brooklyn women's basketball head coach Gail Striegler has announced that Ashley Brown has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Blackbird family, and will be on the court for LIU next fall.

Brown, a 5'6" point guard from Indianapolis, will join LIU from Hill College in Hillsboro, Texas. Brown averaged 9.6 points per game with the Rebels, along with 3.9 rebounds per game. She earned Honorable Mention All-Conference last season, after averaging 9.1 points per game against conference opponents.

"Ashley will be able to come in and make an immediate impact," Coach Striegler sad. "She is a vocal floor leader that can distribute the ball and make good decisions."

Brown joins an incoming class of six, including Shanovia Dove, Brianna Farris, Mercedes Harris, Rachel McCoy, Aleisha Myers and Demi Tomlinson.
