#NECFB Social Media Day to kick off 20th Anniversary Season at MetLife Stadium

Event will feature representatives from all seven league members, air live on NEC Front Row and ESPN3

6/24/2015

Somerset, NJ - The Northeast Conference will kickoff its 20th season of football at MetLife Stadium, home of the NFL’s New York Giants and New York Jets, as the state-of-the-art venue will host the first-ever NEC Football Social Media Day on July 23.

This multi-faceted event, which will unfold in MetLife Stadium’s field level Toyota Coaches Club, will preview the season ahead as well as celebrate the Conference’s 20-year history on the gridiron. The proceedings will air live on both NEC Front Row and ESPN3.

The on-air portion of the event, which will kickoff at 11:00 am ET, will open with the announcement of the preseason poll results and the unveiling of the 27-member Preseason All-NEC Team.  Hosts Paul Dottino and John Schmeelk will interview head coaches and student-athletes from all seven NEC Football member institutions as they look forward to the league’s 20th anniversary season.

Dottino, the NEC’s lead football play-by-play announcer and a member of the New York Giants’ Radio Network, will also facilitate an on-air roundtable discussion amongst a select group of Northeast Conference alumni (former student-athletes).

The coaches, student-athletes and alumni will also be available for breakout interviews with media members in attendance.

In addition, fans and viewers will have the opportunity to interact at certain points in the program. Sideline reporter John Cabral will share fan poll results and top-rated tweets on air. Those hoping to participate should include the #NECFB hashtag in their social media postings.

Media Day will also serve as sponsor networking event for the Conference, providing a forum for the NEC’s key corporate partners to network with each other as well as the NEC staff and membership.   Current NEC Corporate Partners include Bayer, Choice Hotels International, Daktronics, Franklin Group, GEICO, Hersheypark, NRG Home Solar, Pilot Pen, Snyder’s of Hanover, Task Force Security, U-ADE and W.B. Mason.

At the conclusion of the on-air program, all in attendance will enjoy a VIP luncheon while listening to a guest speaker.
