NEC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
EMILIJA KRISTA-GRAVA, WAGNER
So., F, 6-0, Ligatne, Latvia
Week 2 Stats:
34.5 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.5 bpg, .646 FG pct.
Krista-Grava piled up the points while shooting a sizzling 64.6 from the field over her past two appearances. The Latvia-born baller accounted for 34.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 blocks per outing last week. She poured in a career-high 45 points, including the game-winning, buzzer-beating bucket, against MAAC member Saint Peter’s. Krista-Grava, who made 21 of 33 field goal attempts against the Peacocks, scored 16 of Wagner’s 29 fourth-quarter points and her final jumper in the paint have the Seahawks a 90-89 win. She also secured 11 caroms for her first double-double. The 45 points are the most scored by an individual in a NCAA Division I game this season. The 6-foot forward broke the 20-point barrier once again three days later at UMBC. Powering Wagner to a 67-60 triumph over the America East member, Krista-Grava scored a team-high 24 points on 10-for-15 shooting. She played all 20 minutes in the second half against UMBC, tallying 10 points and six rebounds over the final two quarters.
