NEC WOMEN’S LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Alayna Pagnotta, Mount St. Mary's
Gr., Attack, Woodbine, MD/Glenelg
Pagnotta racked up a game-high six points on four goals and a pair of assists to lead Mount St. Mary's to a season-opening win at Towson on Saturday (14-11). The two-time NEC All-Conference performer went 2-of-3 in free-position attempts and put seven of her nine shots on goal. With the Mountaineers up by two with 3:11 remaining, Pagnotta's final strike of the contest at the 1:46 mark iced the game and extended the advantage to 14-11. This is her second career NEC Player of the Week honor.
NEC WOMEN’S LACROSSE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Hailey Duchnowski, LIU
Sr., Goalkeeper, Miller Place, NY/Miller Place
Duchnowski delivered a solid effort between the pipes for LIU in its season opener against Hofstra on Saturday. Limiting the Pride to eight goals, the senior turned away 14 shots on the afternoon. This is Duchnowski's third career NEC Defensive Player of the Week honor.
NEC WOMEN’S LACROSSE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Lindsey Tolliver, MSM
Fr., Attack, Bel Air, MD/Patterson Mill
Earning the start as an attacker in her collegiate debut, Tolliver scored one goal and tacked on a game-high three assists to finish with four points in Mount St. Mary's win against Towson on Saturday. The rookie's first career goal came at a pivotal moment, as it extended the Mountaineers' lead to three with 5:07 to go.
NEC PRIME PERFORMERS
Hailey Duchnowski, LIU (Sr., GK)
Duchnowski had a solid season debut for the Sharks on Saturday. Holding the Pride to eight goals, she registered a game-best 14 saves in a three-goal defeat. Duchnowski was also named the NEC Defensive Player of the Week for the third time in her career.
Dani Donoghue, MSM (Jr., MF)
Donoghue went off for four goals to match a game high in Mount Saint Mary's season-opening win at Towson on Saturday. Her first strike in the opening stanza was the Mountaineers' first goal of 2022, while her final score at the 2:19 mark of the second quarter gave Mount St. Mary's a lead it would not relinquish for the remainder of the game. Donoghue put seven of her eight shots on goal.
Alayna Pagnotta, MSM (Gr., A)
Pagnotta earned her second career Player of the Week honor after leading Mount St. Mary's to a season-opening, 14-11 win at Towson on Saturday. The graduate student tallied four goals and a pair of asssts to lead all scorers with six points. Pagnotta's final goal of the game extended the Mountaineers' lead to three heading down the final stretch. A two-time All-NEC performer, she converted on 2-of-3 free-position attempts.
Lindsey Tolliver, MSM (Fr., A)
Tolliver, who was named the NEC Rookie of the Week, got her collegiate career off to a strong start on Saturday. Tallying four points on one goal and three assists, she helped lead Mount St. Mary's to a 14-11 win at Towson. Tolliver's three helpers were a game high.
Madeline Seims, WC (Gr., A)
Seims, a two-time First Team All-NEC honoree, delivered a hat trick in Wagner's defeat at #16 Hofstra on Saturday.
Katie Siverson, WC (Fr., MF)
Siverson connected on each of her two shot attempts on Saturday in Wagner's setback at #16 Hofstra. The rookie added three ground balls and four draw controls to make an impression in her collegiate debut.
