NEC WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Abbey Keane, Central Connecticut

Central Connecticut opened the season at the Block Cancer Open Water Festival consisting of races of 1.25K, 2.5K and 5K. The 5K race served as a qualifier for the 2023 CSCAA Open Water National Championship and Keane was one of six Blue Devils who earned qualifying times. Keane was the event's top collegiate finisher, touching in at 59.51. She finished third among 41 participants as was one of three swimmers to break the hour mark.

NEC WOMEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Maggie Rutledge, Central Connecticut
Fr., Southbury, CT/Pomperaug/Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut
Rutledge made her collegiate debut at the Block Cancer Open Water Festival placing 10th in the women's 5K race and 17th overall with a qualifying time of 1:03.34 for the CSCAA National Open Water Championship.
NEC PRIME PERFORMERS
Winter Berube, Jr., CCSU
- Berube was the lone Blue Devil in the 2.5K race at the Block Cancer Open Water Festival. She clocked in at 32:40 to place third in the women's race and eighth overall.
Abbey Keane, Sr., CCSU
- At the Block Cancer Open Water Festival, Keane was the top collegiate swimmer and third overall in the 5K event. She broke the hour mark, touching at 59:51 to qualify for the CSCAA National Open Water Championship in December.

Sophia Pincince, Fr., CCSU
- Pincince was the top women's finisher in the 1.25K race and placed third overall in her collegiate debut at the Block Cancer Open Water Festival, with a 15:44 showing.
Maggie Rutledge, Fr., CCSU
- Rutledge made her collegiate debut at the Block Cancer Open Water Festival placing 10th in the women's 5K race and 17th overall with a qualifying time of 1:03.34 for the CSCAA National Open Water Championship.
Tabbed NEC Rookie of the Week.
Jasmine Morgan, Fr., HU
- Morgan made her collegiate debut at the the Potomac Relays in which Howard took fourth place. The rookie led off for the Bison in the 200-yard freestyle relay, producing a 24:32 time over the first 50 yards to help lead the Bison to a second place finish in 1:36.92.
