NEC MEN'S BASKETBALL CO-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Jordan Derkack, Merrimack

In claiming his second NEC Player of the Week honor, the sophomore guard averaged 19.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.0 steals in a split for the Warriors. He converted at a 68.2 percent clip from the field and shot 57.1 percent from outside the arc. Derkack’s 18 points tied him for game-scoring honors at Cincinnati on Tuesday, and he followed with a terrific all-around effort in Merrimack’s 68-52 conquest of Bucknell on Friday. The NEC’s leading scorer rang up 21 points on 9-12 shooting, and added six rebounds, seven assists and five steals. In doing so, he became the first player in the nation this season to record at least 20 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals in a game while shooting 75 percent or better from the floor. He ranks in the NEC top-ten in five statistical categories: scoring (17.3), steals (2.4), rebounding (6.2), field goal percentage (.534) and assists (3.2).
Jordan Jones, CCSU

Jones has played at an elite level this month, and last Thursday the senior played a pivotal role in CCSU’s 82-80 road win over Fordham. He scored all 18 of his points in the second half, highlighted by three key buckets in the final 2:45, including the go-ahead shot and a layup with 43 seconds to play that pushed CCSU’s lead to five points. Jones added six rebounds, four assists and three steals (all team-highs) in the victory. Two days earlier, the Florence, SC native tossed in a career-high 22 points on 7-13 shooting and a 3-3 mark from long range in a 79-74 setback to Northeastern. For the week, Jones put up 20.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 3.0 steals per game. He shot 50.0 percent overall, 60.0 percent from deep and 91.7 percent from the stripe. On the year, he has bumped his scoring average to 12.2 ppg. Additionally, Jones stands sixth in the NEC in steals (2.0) and ninth in field goal percentage (.483), while making 39.3 percent of his three-point opportunities.
NEC MEN'S BASKETBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Eli Wilborn, Saint Francis U
6’8”, 215 lbs.
Fr., F, Middletown, CT/Middletown
Wilborn now leads the conference with three NEC Rookie of the Week honors, all within the past four weeks. The 6’8” forward from Middletown, CT scored a team-high 15 points and snared eight boards in a last-second, 75-73 setback to Robert Morris on Wednesday. He sank 7-10 shots and added a block and a steal. Over the last seven games,. Wilborn has averaged 9.9 ppg, 7.4 rpg and 2.0 bpg, while shooting an efficient 65.9 percent from the floor. He not only leads all NEC freshmen, but also ranks in the conference top-five in rebounding (6.2), field goal percentage (.580) and blocks (1.6). SFU has earned NEC Rookie of the Week accolades five times in seven weeks this season, with honors also bestowed upon Bobby Rosenberger and Aaron “Ace” Talbert.

- Paced the Knights with 18 points against Fairfield, which marked his highest point total of the season since scoring a career-high 24 at Buffalo on opening night.
- One of five FDU players in double figures at 10.8 ppg.
- Currently ranks fourth on the circuit in field goal shooting (.554) and sixth in rebounding (5.8).
Ocypher Owens (LEM, Jr, F)

- Scored a career-high 26 points in last Monday’s win ove Houghton.
- Tallied 13 points, six boards and three assists at Penn State three days later.
- Averaging 10.5 ppg, 4.3 rpg, and is fourth in the league in blocks (1.3) and seventh in field goal percentage (.495).
