Geneva, OH -- With one event down at the 2022 NEC Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, it's Howard who made the biggest impression.
The Bison broke the NEC meet record in the 800-yard freestyle relay.
The five-day event is being held for the second year in a row at Spire Institute in Geneva, OH.
Looking to write its name in the NEC recordbook, Howard set a new conference mark in the relay to win gold and pick up 40 points. The Bison touched in 6:35.84 to comfortably break Bryant's previous record time of 6:39.50 from last year's meet. St. Francis Brooklyn followed Howard, touching in 6:40.72 and Wagner claimed bronze with a 6:43.99 relay time.
The winning Howard relay team consisted of Miles Simon (1:36.29 split), Mark-Anthony Beckles (1:38.53), Samuel Reese (1:41.47) and Luke-Kennedy Thompson (1:39.55).
Toni Dragoja (1:36.72), Benedek Lendvai (1:42.03), Valentin Schnermann (1:40.37) and Daniel Matheus Santos (1:41.60) claimed silver medals for St. Francis Brooklyn.
