Fairfield, CT -- The Sacred Heart Women's Golf Team is headed to Texas for the 2024 NCAA Regional.
The Pioneers, winners of the last three Northeast Conference Championships, found out today they will compete as the No. 11 seed at the Bryan Regional hosted by Texas A&M at the Traditions Club.
SHU, which went to Stanford University in 2022 and the University of Georgia last May for regional competition, won the NEC Tournament last week by a conference-record 42 strokes.
"Our team loves Texas. We've been a few times, and we are excited about going somewhere warm," said team captain
Kailee Welch, who has been with the Pios at each of their regional appearances. "Getting to experience new parts of the country the last three years has been amazing. We've been able to play beautiful courses that we wouldn't normally get to play."
