NEC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Megan Normile, Rider
Jr., D, New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt
Normile found the back of cage four times during opening weekend as Rider went 2-0 to open the 2024 campaign. The junior defender scored three goals and added an assist in the Broncs’ victory over newly-minted NEC foe Mercyhurst. Additionally, Normile contributed a score in a 5-1 non-conference triumph against Colgate. On the defensive side, Normile helped limit Rider’s opponents to just six total shots and one goal across the two matchups.
NEC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mia DiGenova, Saint Francis U
So., GK, King of Prussia, PA/Bishop Shanahan
DiGenova started her sophomore campaign with a bang as she made a career-high 19 saves in SFU’s season opening win, which was the fourth-most saves in a single game in program history. The sophomore goalie posted a .905 save percentage in the Red Flash’s 3-2, double overtime victory at Ball State. She added five saves in a road setback to Miami (OH) for a total of 27 over the weekend. This marked DiGenova’s second career NEC Defensive Player of the Week honor (Sept. 19, 2023).
NEC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Olivia Machiavelli, Rider
Fr., F, Madrid, Spain/International School Sek el Castillo
In her collegiate debut, Machiavelli scored twice and dished an assist in Rider's 5-1 victory at Colgate. Late in the second quarter, the freshman forward inserted the ball into the back of the cage off a corner and then scored once again off a rebound by pulling off a reverse chip in to seal the game in the fourth. Her five points lead all rookies in the NEC.

Tallied the Stags' lone goal in their season opener on the road against Bryant.
Gigi Ranoldo, So., M (LIU)
Inserted two goals through a 1-1 week for LIU, including one in a 2-1 victory over BIG EAST foe Quinnipiac.
Olivia Machiavelli, Fr., F (RID)

Scored two goals in the Red Flash's 3-2 double overtime victory on the road against Ball State. de Castro has notched mulitple scores during SFU's season opener in back-to-back years. (2g vs. Queens Charlotte in 2023)

Dolores Zavaleta, Sr., M (SFU)
Recorded the game-winner off a penalty corner in the final seconds of SFU's double overtime triumph against Ball State.
Tyra Stark, So., M (STO)
Tallied a goal in Stonehill's season opener at Holy Cross.
Cami Valor, Gr., F (WC)
Totaled three points on a goal and an assist in two games over the weekend for the Seahawks.
