Somerset, NJ -- With today's seeding announcement, the brackets have been finalized for the 2025 Northeast Conference (NEC) Tennis Championships, which commence on Thursday, April 17 at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, NJ.
The FDU women and men were named the #1 seeds and will receive byes into the semifinals.
The tournament will be contested over three days in a single-elimination format at the award-winning Mercer facility, which will host the NEC Championship for the 23rd consecutive year.
Claiming the top seed for the fifth time in program history and first time since 2014, the FDU women will look to add a coveted seventh NEC tournament title to its trophy case. The Knights compiled a 9-7 overall record while going a perfect 6-0 against NEC opponents. FDU also claimed a trio of impressive non-conference victories against St. John’s, Bryant and Fairfield. In 2024, the Knights advanced to their 10th conference final before falling 4-2 to longtime rival LIU.
Following a 7-1 conference campaign, Saint Francis U claimed the second seed and has its eyes set on winning its first ever conference title. FDU handed the Red Flash their only league setback in a tightly contested 4-3 match in a battle of conference unbeatens on April 11.
Eyeing its first NEC championship in its second postseason appearance, Stonehill was slotted at third after a 3-2 conference campaign, while two-time defending champion and eight-time title winner LIU looks to make it a three-peat from the No. 4 seed.

FDU isn’t the only squad looking poised to make a run for the league title as seeds two, three and four all posted winning records in conference play.
Second-seeded Le Moyne reached the NEC semfinals last season in its first postseason foray and finished the 2025 regular season with a 5-2 mark.
Third-seeded LIU compiled a 4-2 record against league opponents and enters the tournament in pursuit of its first-ever NEC crown.
Coming off a stellar debut season in 2024, defending NEC champion Binghamton has high hopes of repeating. The Bearcats went 4-3 versus league rivals this spring.
Meanwhile, FDU heads into the postseason with momentum, having gone unbeaten against its top three challengers. The Knights knocked off Le Moyne and LIU by matching 5-2 scores and edged Binghamton, 4-3.
