Bridgewater, NJ -- It was a year of firsts on the Northeast Conference (NEC) Outdoor Track & Field circuit as the league announced its Coaching Staff of the Year award winners, along with the All-Conference and All-Rookie teams.

Impressive showings this past spring at the NEC Championshops earned NEC Coaching Staff of the Year honors for the Wagner women and Stonehill men.

Joe Stasi’s Seahawks hoisted the conference trophy for the first time in program history while Michael Delgado’s Skyhawks posted a runner-up finish, their best result since joining the NEC.

The Coaching Staff of the Year award winners were selected by a vote of the league’s head coaches.

Just three months after earning its first conference indoor track & field title, Wagner finished atop the standings on the outdoor circuit. Compiling 13 podium finishes, the Seahawks won seven gold medals and broke three meet records.

2025 Most Valuable Performer Ruth-Ann Chambers notched three first-place finishes in the 100m dash, 100m hurdles and the 400m hurdles while setting meet records in both hurdle events (100m – 13.57, 400m – 59.46). The Seahawks’ 4x800m team also broke the conference meet record with a 9:05.91 mark on its way to gold. Wagner also recorded top-step finishes from Giavanna Comerford (3000m Steeplechase), Rylee Ferretti (10,000m) and Elisa Parazzi (high jump).

In addition to garnering MVP honors, Chambers won the Most Outstanding Track Performer (Sprints) award. Ferretti was named the Most Outstanding Track Performer (Distance) to round out Wagner’s major awards haul.

Improving on a fourth place finish a year ago, the Skyhawks soared into second place after posting seven top-three finishes, including four silver medals.

Senior Jacob Pacheco led the way with a pair of medals. He won the silver in the javelin and claimed bronze in the pole vault. The Skyhawks also earned a trio of silver medals from Cody DeAngelo (pole vault), Parker Hagen (triple jump) and their 4x100m relay squad.

The All-NEC first and second teams were compiled of the first and second-place finishers in each event. For the men, Central Connecticut led the way with 15 All-Conference selections while the Seahawks’ 12 top-two finishers were the most of the women’s teams.

All-Rookie teams consisted of the top rookie finishers in each event. CCSU led all men’s squads with five selections. On the women’s side, Stonehill and Saint Francis U tied for the most honorees with four apiece.
