Bryant: Bryant snapped a four-meet losing skid with a victory over Providence on Wednesday, Nov. 9. Casey Ostrander (Yarmouthport, MA/Barnstable) led the way with three pool records in the 50 free, 100 free and 100 fly. Sophomore Taylor DeBever (Denver, CO/Regis Jesuit) also won three events against the Friars, claiming the 100 back, 200 back and the 200 free. Junior Molly Smith (Belmont, MA/Belmont) also set a pool record against Providence, winning the 200 breast with a time of 2:25.04. On Saturday, the Bulldogs split a tri-meet with Siena and Niagara. Ostrander won two more events and DeBever also added a first-place finish. The 400 free relay also added a victory.
The Bulldogs also earned six second-place finishes.

Central Connecticut: The Blue Devils were idle this week and will swim again November 19 at the BU Terrier Invitational.

Mount St. Mary’s:  The Mount swimmers will take to the pool Thursday the 17th at the Radford Invitational.

Sacred Heart: Sacred Heart did not compete this week but will swim Saturday the 19th at Assumption.

St. Francis (NY): The Terriers were out of the pool this week and will swim again November 19 against Manhattan.

Saint Francis (PA):  Saint Francis U. halted a seven-meet drought against Akron by downing the Zips, 153-109, at Stokes Natatorium on Saturday. The Red Flash led from start to finish in its 2011 home opener, setting three pool records along the way. Junior Alicia Ford (Whitney Point, NY/Whitney Point) had a hand in three pool records.  She anchored the victorious 400 medley relay to open the meet (3:57.09), won the 100 free with a time of 52.24 and led off for the 200 free relay (1:38.40).  Ford also came within a second of her own record in the 50 free, swimming a 24.43. The 200 free relay time bested the previous facility mark of 1:39.17, which was held by a Penn State team under the direction of then-Lady Lions head coach and current Saint Francis Director of Athletics Bob Krimmel in 1997.

Wagner: Eight different swimmers earned first place finishes for the Wagner College swimming and diving team, who sailed past Hunter College, 84-11, and Manhattan College 67-28 over the weekend. The two victories bump the Seahawks overall dual record to 7-1, already accumulating the most team wins since the 2006-2007 season. Senior Mary Courtney Ryan (Staten Island, NY / St. Joseph Hill Academy) led the Seahawks distance group, recording her first collegiate win in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:06.87. Junior co-captain Lauren Meyer (Hamden, CT / Hamden HS) also picked up her first individual victory of the season, taking the 50 freestyle sprint in 26.85. The Seahawks have a three-week break before their next competition, when they head to the ECAC Open Swimming & Diving Championships on December 2.
