Bryant:  Bryant defeated NEC-foe St. Francis (NY), 131-78, on Saturday in Brooklyn Heights, NY. The Bulldogs took home first in the 500 free, 1000 free, 200 IM, 100 breast and 200 free relay events.
Casey Ostrander (Yarmouthport, MA/Barnstable) and Kaitlin Buckley (Duxbury, MA/Duxbury) each won two events for the Black and Gold. The victories were the first two for Buckley on the season.
Bryant also received first-place finishes from Abby Whittaker (Salisbury, MA/Saint Thomas Aquinas), Ashley Atherton (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan), Molly Smith (Belmont, MA/Belmont) and Caitlin Hanahoe (Prairie, MN/Eden-Prairie). The Bulldogs return to the pool this weekend for a home meet against the University of Massachusetts on Friday and road meet against Stony Brook on Saturday.
 
Central Connecticut: The Blue Devils fell to Florida International University on the Road this weekend 174-120. Central picked up wins in the 400 medley relay behind sophomore Helene Neuhaus (Westport, CT/Staples), Kristinal Guila (Orange, CT/Amity), Katie Lang (Monroe, CT/Masuk) and Taylor Friedmann (Berlint, CT/Berlin). Other highlights included a first place finish in the 100 yard breastroke (1:08.64) from Guila and a top finish by Neuhaus in the 50 free (25.22). Senior Alex Czaplicki (North Haven, CT/North Haven) tied for first in the 100 freestyle posting a time of 54.55. The Blue Devils will next compete with NEC rival Wagner on January 28.
 
Mount St. Mary’s:  The Mount returns to action at Duquesne on Jan. 21. Meet starts at 1 p.m
 
Sacred Heart: The Pioneers will swim again on January 28 at Western Connecticut.
 
St. Francis (NY): The St. Francis (NY) Terriers lost a 131-78 decision against conference foe Bryant on Saturday afternoon in Brooklyn Heights. The Terriers won the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:53.14 as Ella Aiwohi (Haleiwa, Hawaii / Kahuku),  Andrea Dolnay (Budapest, Hungary/St. Margaret HS), Kacie Davis (Hilo, HI/ Kamehameha Hawai'i Campus), and Cami Bird (St. Louis, MO/Lafayette High School) all turned in strong performances. Jemma Hinkly (West Palm Beach, FL/Alexander W. Dreyfoos Jr. School of the Arts) swam well as she captured the 50 Freestyle (25.69) and was third in the 100 Butterfly (1:07.16).  Diver Anastasia Nicholson (Staten Island, NY/Michael J. Petrides) won the one-meter event (171.60) and the Terriers also received first-place performances by Alexandra Santo (Brooklyn, NY/St. Savior) (500 Freestyle, 6:42.66) and Ewelina Gorecka (Kielce, Poland /Sport High School in Raciborz) (100 Breaststroke, 1:16.17).
 
Saint Francis (PA):  Saint Francis U. closed out its home season on Saturday with a resounding, 144-110, win over Youngstown State by winning nine of the meet’s first 12 events and swam the final three events as exhibition. Elise Löfgren (Molnlycke, Sweden/Hulebacks) earned three wins on the day, starting with the 200 medley relay.  She also struck gold in two breaststroke events.  The sophomore claimed the 100 with a 1:08.37 and followed up with a win in the 200 with a 2:26.66. Jessica Dunn (Bristow, VA/Seton School) and Chloe Pierre (Valencia, PA/Mars) – the team's two seniors – were honored prior to the meet.
 
Wagner: The Green & White will swim again when they welcome the Rhode Island Rams to the Spiro Sports Center on Saturday, January 21.
