Caitlin Reilly Hughes was promoted to Assistant Commissioner for Sport Services in July, 2017. She was hired as the NEC Director of Sport Services on July 14, 2014.
In her role as Director of Sport Services, Reilly Hughes assists in NEC championship and regular season sport administration, development of sport schedules, maintains and updates the NEC Policy Manual, oversees the championship bid and survey process, and coordinates awards.
Reilly Hughes came to the NEC from Hunter College in New York City, where she spent the last two years as Event/Equipment Manager. She was responsible for home game management, department purchasing, and oversaw equipment distribution and care for the 18-sport athletic program.
Prior to her arrival at Hunter, Reilly Hughes served as Olympic Sport/Sport Administration Assistant at the Big East Conference during the 2011-12 academic year. She assisted in conference championship planning and administration, as well as regular season scheduling and the league’s awards program. She also assisted with the event management at the 2012 Big East Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments and the 2012 NCAA Women’s Basketball Kingston Regional.
Reilly Hughes is no stranger to the NEC, having served as a Marketing and Promotions Intern at Central Connecticut in 2010-11. She also spent time as an Athletic Department Teaching Fellow at Springfield College from 2009-11.
A 2009 graduate of Gettysburg College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Sciences, Hughes was a four-year member of the swim team. She was a seven-time Centennial Conference champion and remains a school record holder. Hughes completed her graduate course work in Athletic Administration in 2011 at Springfield College with her thesis under development.
